      Account Executive Interview

      Sep 1, 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Indeed (Austin, TX) in Jul 2017

      Interview

The initial steps were great. Sara, a recruiter reached out to me for an initial call. She was prompt and helpful. We set up an onsite interview. The interview itself was 90 minutes, with 3 different directors. All the directors, Trey, Andrew and Danny were nice, easy going people. The interview were relatively easy: why sales? Why indeed? tell me about your professional backgroud. And then they opened it up for q&a. Plenty of positive affirmation during the interview and good feedback. We exchanged business cards... Then after the interviews were over, I sent thank you's and heard nothing back. A week went by and I followed up with the recruiter...nothing. Then I reached out to directors, 4 weeks after the interview and received an automated reply saying: "Thank you for your interest. At this time we’ve decided to move forward with other candidates for this role. A number of factors went into this decision, namely the size and quality of the candidate pool." Nice touch. I understand it's a large company, but I had reached out to HR and the directors emails and they couldn't muster up a personal reply? For a company that is focused on the job market, it was really disappointing to see how they handle their own prospects. I would not recommend interviewing here, if you do...be sure to have other irons in the fire.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Indeed (Singapore) in Feb 2026

      Interview

The recruiter was based in Bangalore, India. At the start of the interview, he read through the job scope directly from his screen. He spoke very fast with a strong accent, which made it difficult for me to fully understand. After reviewing the role, he asked questions related to the sales process, motivation, strengths, sales targets, handling difficult customers, availability, and salary expectations. I asked for clarification more than once and answered the questions based on my understanding. The interview felt very transactional, with limited interaction beyond the scripted questions. Just some feedback, I feel I would have been able to respond more effectively if the questions were shorter and more direct. Some of the questions were quite lengthy. I have no issue with different accents, but speaking slower and clearer pace of speech would have improved comprehension.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Indeed (New York, NY) in Dec 2025

      Interview

Fast paced but thorough. Was able to finish the process within 3-4 weeks. Fully remote and interviewed with several directors. The process felt personable and the directors took time to make sure that it was a good fit for me as well.

      Interview

Just a phone screen. It was clear the recruiter didn't fully read/misread my resume when she got on the call as I could hear her having her "oh oops" moment. Haven't heard since. At least she was candid that they don't promise any feedback or communication as a policy.
