I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Indeed (Austin, TX) in May 2016
Interview
I've actually interviewed with Indeed twice, once when I was still in school, and again after I was in the work force for a few years. Both times were very negative, so I guess they never improved. Indeed's interview process is very time consuming and unnecessarily long, it consists of several components:
1. A phone interview with a recruiter. Both times the recruiters were >8min late.
2. A homework in Python that consists of a page of questions. Will take you at least a few hours to finish.
3. An all-day, intensive, back-to-back in person interview day which consists of 8 people. Each interview took 45min ~ 1hr, with one hour for a lunch interview, 1hr for python, 1hr for sql, 1hr for data analysis, 1hr for presentation, 1hr for case study, behavioral, etc. I was given actual coding tasks and a laptop, and time limits to complete open ended questions.
By the end of your interview day you just want to be done. I was exhausted and losing my voice.
Both times I've interviewed I got hints that they already have someone else selected/in mind, or are looking for someone with different sets of skills. 3 of my friends who recently interviewed at Indeed had similar experiences. Why would you waste your own time and our time like this. You need to take a full PTO day just for the interview.
I would suggest you not waste time with Indeed unless you're truly confident you'll love working there.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Python, SQL, behavioral, case, presentation, brain teasers.....you name it, they've asked it
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Indeed (Tokyo) in Feb 2022
Interview
The interview process was long. - Initial screening. - Take home assignment. - 5 rounds of interviews. I really felt that the interview was biased. A guy took 2 rounds of interviews for me and didn't even bother to switch on his camera. One of my friends who applied earlier for a different position also felt that the interview was biased. Most of the interviewers were from a particular nationality and they seemed to recruit them more.
