Lengthy, multiple stages, had to give a presentation on an Illumina publication. I had the sense that they intended to internally fill the position all alone so I felt my time was being wasted. I felt good about my performance and interaction but I’m fairly certain the internal candidate got the jib offer.

Relatively long and thorough interview process. Heard that it's expected for seniority of the role. Went through 7 rounds with all potential stake holders including a presentation of past experiences. HR was very helpful and responsive in organizing interview sessions and answering questions.

I applied for a Scientist II position, but was asked to interview for a Staff Scientist role. One-way interview. A little awkward at first, but the app allows you to practice, which helps. Questions were very technical, which I am not surprised for a Staff Scientist role. Unfortunately, it was not my area of expertise, so the questions were difficult for me.
