      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Hilton (Baltimore, MD) in Jan 2014

      Interview

Questionable. HR Department does not get back to candidates promptly. Upon working there and seeing the level of employee competence, the interview process must not be very effective in weeding out low performing employees.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Nothing too memorable. Standard questions, and uninspiring HR managers. If you need employment, this is a great company. If you are seeking career growth and employee development, this probably is not a long term career choice to consider.

      Application

I applied through university. I interviewed at Hilton (Chicago, IL)

      Interview

The interview process was pretty standard. Sat down with the Director or Front office along with the Assistant Director or Front Office. Then interviewed wit the General Manager of the hotel.

I interviewed at Hilton in Jun 2019

      Interview

This was one of the most disorganized interview processes I have seen. I arrived ten minutes early, announced to the security guard who I was there to see as told to do by the logistics email from HR. I was told to wait in a waiting area, so I sat. About 5 minutes after the interview was supposed to start, someone rushed out of the office, noticed me, asked who I was there to see, and said she would "go look for her." She never returned. After 5-10 more minutes, multiple other people passing through asked if I was being helped, and I told all of them why I was there and who I was looking for. At last an HR rep came out and escorted me to the office where the interview would be. Instead of the person who I'd been told would interview me, I was dropped off in an office with two people who neither introduced themselves and their roles nor explained that they would be the ones interviewing me instead. They had clearly never interviewed before, did not know what questions to ask me. I had a lot of questions for them as the online page for this role provided little detail about what the internship responsibilities actually were. When I asked what it was all about, given that there wasn't much on the website, one of the interviewers said half jokingly, "Well that's insulting." (No, it's just the truth). I didn't let the interview go on too long- I just got the information out of it that I wanted. I'm overqualified for the job so I didn't really care about pressing too much on what kinds of responsibilities the interns were offered. Really I was there to get information on what the role actually was, since I couldn't find that on the website anywhere. They came across as an extremely disorganized office and I hope that it was just a busy day/beginning of summer season, and that it's not how all their interviews go. I also was not reimbursed for my travel which I feel is unacceptable, given that this is a huge company and not a nonprofit or government agency.
