      Software Engineer Interview

      May 7, 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Denver, CO
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Handshake (Denver, CO) in Apr 2019

      Interview

The interview process was pretty standard for the role. Recruiter from the company got in touch with me. I did an initial call to talk about what I was looking for and what the company was looking for and see if there's a possible fit. It was then followed by a technical phone interview and after that an onsite interview that was about 4 hours.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The onsite interview was a standard systems design question and building a web app.

      Interview

The interview process was very well-organised and transparent. The recruiter maintained excellent communication throughout and was both professional and responsive. Each person I met was well-prepared, asked thoughtful questions, and had deep knowledge in their respective fields. Overall, the experience was positive and gave me a great impression of the company.

      Interview

Recruiter call followed by tech screen. Same question others have described. I provided a working solution but was rejected for reasons unknown. No feedback was shared. Not a good experience.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Handshake in Dec 2024

      Interview

Interview Process: 1) OA - easy/med leetcode 2) Technical Phone Interview - Work solo for 1 hour adding requirements of a given take-home assignment for both frontend and backend. Then 1 hour with interviewer to discuss what you have done 3) Hiring Manager Interview - talking about your projects Overall, a simple process. Although, the hiring manager I talked with seemed to be annoyed and was cold. No pleasant introductions, straight to the point.
