I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HSBC (London, England) in Dec 2018
Interview
Few months ago I applied for the job and after completing the online assessment, nothing happened. After two weeks I emailed their HR department to ask for feedback. The next day I had a missed call from them and strangely I could not reach them back. Few weeks later I received a call telling me that I have been selected to move to a telephone interview if I was still interested. I turned down the offer because all seemed so poorly managed.
This month I saw their offer posted again and I decided to apply. I thought that after few months the process will be better. Wrong! It went from bad to worst. After completing the same assessment I had to schedule a telephone interview in their career system. The first option was after a week and half. Few days later I received a call from their recruitment team for 10 mins interview. Asking me questions like: What did attract me in the offer?/Why do I want to work for HSBC, salary expectation… In the middle of the conversation their team member excused herself that she had another interview soon and she will call me back later to finish it. Which happened after two days. I asked about the upcoming interview that I have scheduled online and she reassured me that this is all done now and advised me to wait to hear back from them. All this seemed very weird. On the date and time when I scheduled the interview I received another call from the same phone number to make another telephone interview for 20-30 mins. I told him that I have already done that few days ago. He checked in their system and he could confirm that this has been done. I was busy and I had to reschedule it for the next day. This time they call me on time and they asked the same questions: What did attract me in the offer?/Why do I want to work for HSBC, salary expectation, notice period ect. I had to answer couple of competency question. The phone interview was around 20 mins. The next day they declined my application and I do not regret it. All this process seemed very chaotic, unprofessional and disorganized.

Question 1
Why did you apply for this role and why do you want to work at HSBC?
Submit online application and passed online simulation, similar to what role would entail. Had a telephone interview, then in person interview at the building. Interview was okay but started late and felt rushed. Completed online based interview. Lengthy process for minimum salary, and long hours. Took 14 days to hear back. Not worth the hassle
I was invited to do an online assessment that was about answering a fake call from a customer and helping them through a banking problem they were having, then a screening call, finally an in-person interview
