      Director of Operations Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at HOVER (Los Angeles, CA) in Jan 2023

      Interview

Really unprofessional process with harsh timelines and undue burden on the candidate. Also, found it highly distasteful I went through final round interviews with company executives, to include conducting a case study and the hiring manager didn't even have the decency to reach out to give me the bad news. Plain old poor leadership. Also, the reason I was given for rejection was a lack of experience with BPOs when that was not once asked about in the interview process nor mentioned even a single time in the JD. Ironically, I have managed several offshore BPOs. Day 0: applied Day 10: recruiter reaches out, quick conversation with a day or two. Asked to wait another week or so. Day 30: First meeting with hiring manager. Day 31: Asked to complete skills assessment/case study by the next day Day 32: Skills assessment complete Day 35: told final round interviews and panel would happen the next day, was not given ANY advance warning. Day 36 final round interviews with VP and multiple senior directors Day 42: rejected by recruiter over phone.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HOVER (Los Angeles, CA) in Jan 2023

      Interview

The interview process was poorly communicated, delayed, then rushed in an unprofessional manner. I was told by several people to include the hiring manager to expect an offer only to be rejected by a junior recruiter AFTER final stage interviews. Being rejected is fine, but they have some very serious issues with their process that place undue burden on candidates — I had one day to do a skills assessment and was told less than 24 hours in advance about my final stage interview. And they do an incredibly poor job managing expectations. I was almost universally told I was the favorite and frequently told “when you start” compared to “if”. The reason for why didn’t get the job wasn’t even listed as a requirement on the JD nor was I ever asked to speak to that skill set in a single interview. This company needs to get their stuff together BEFORE they take up precious time from candidates.

Case study on baking cakes that has literally nothing to do with the business model.
