I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Gusto (Denver, CO) in Jul 2016
Interview
The interview was fairly intensive, interviewing with about 5 different staff members after an initial skill assessment to test basic customer care skills. The culture presented in the interview, however, was fantastic. The staff all felt like they went out of their way to make me feel like I was already a member of the team, like we'd already been friends for a while before the interview.
Questions were relevant to both culture and skill-set. The skill assessment, though pressed for time, did a good job, I felt, of preparing us for the type of work required of the position. Overall, it was a great experience. The focus on values and the people involved was vastly refreshing.

Question 1
"What are some values that you feel that you share with Gusto?"
Best interview process. Everyone is so nice and relatable. Probably one of the best interviews that I’ve ever done. I felt like an employee that was already hired. Great benefits. Great incentives

Question 1
Tell me about a time where you went above and beyond for a client.
Applied in late February/early March. I heard back in May. I had a phone screen and then a take home assignment. The take home assignment covered emails I would likely reply to and tax/payroll questions.
I was invited to interview shortly after this process, and I met four members of the team. I spent close to 30 minutes with each member answering questions about my customer service experience. The interview was very conversational and laid back. I felt very comfortable and like they truly wanted to get to know me as a person.
After the interview, I scheduled a follow up call to give them feedback. I then recieved another call a few days later with a job offer. The whole process was professional and transparent.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you had a positive customer experience. Why was it positive?
I applied online. I interviewed at Gusto (Denver, CO) in Jun 2019
Interview
I applied and then had a thirty minute phone interview followed by a written assignment. After the written assignment, I advanced to the next round of interviews which was about 2 and a half hours with four different interviewers (about 30 minutes each). The interview process was extensive but the interviewers did a good job of making the experience very comfortable and the interviews seem more like conversations with a friend.
