Extremely inefficient and drawn out hiring process. Very indicative of an organization that has a hard time making decisions and has poor time management skills.
Completed around 10 interviews over the course of 2 months for a mid-level role. Interviewed primarily with key stakeholders and the hiring manager. Many interviewers arrived more than 5 minutes late to the scheduled interviews. All asked similar questions, primarily “talk me through your experience”, “why do you want this role”, etc. Each interview felt like a repeat from the last.
The recruiter I initially interviewed with showed up 15 minutes late to my 30 minute interview and seemed to be referencing a different candidate’s resume, as they asked me about experience at a company I hadn’t worked at. They then proceeded to tell me the hiring manager was actively reviewing candidates with more experience than me. Additionally, this recruiter also required prompting for status updates every step of the way, as they seemed to forget to provide them on their own.
The hiring manager openly expressed a preconceived notion about my prior work experience, which I clearly addressed in my interviews multiple times, but ultimately passed on me due to their inability to get past their own assumptions and bias.
