      Finance Interview

      Dec 11, 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Stamford, CT
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Gen Re (Stamford, CT) in Jun 2015

      Interview

I spoke with several different people about the position ranging in qualifications and positions from recently hired interns/trainees to upper management. The interns/trainees couldn't answer any real questions, but gave a flavor as to the environment. Upper management seemed desperate to hire anyone. One interviewer said that there were a lot of changes going on, another said that nothing had changed in the 20+ year she'd been with the company. One of the trainees had been with the company for 2 years and was still a trainee, when I pressed for a reason, he didn't give a solid answer, just that the company is slow to promote.
