      Interview

Interview process took approximately 3 weeks. Met with HR, hiring manager, regional VP of Sales, and managing VP of Sales. Interviews were both face to face and over the phone. One interview with the hiring manager and regional VP of Sales was a group interview, which really focused on how I would handle specific sales scenarios. The final interview with the managing VP of Sales was conducted over the phone.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Many questions were based on sales scenarios where there were real right or wrong answers. A typical scenario question had to do with a prospect who wanted complementary research or services. The interviewers were looking at how quickly you could think on your feet and how you addressed the request while maintaining a positive rapport.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Gartner (Egham, England) in Dec 2017

      Interview

5 contacts in total (I have not applied for the job though, but been contacted for a junior role within Gartner by an internal recruiter, which I refused and have been recommended for this role afterwards) - 3 interviews on the phone and 2 interviews f2f. Great recruiters that support you through the process and amazing speed of decision. Large number of people engaged for the f2f interviews but a very good experience overall. The best thing is that you are given feedback straight away - 24hr after the interview you know how you've done and what the next step is,

      Global Account Manager Interview

      Mar 22, 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Gartner in Feb 2017

      Interview

I was approached by an internal recruiter on LinkedIn and scheduled an initial phone call which was the standard, just went throught my experience and talked about the company and the role available. Scheduled the second call, got told to wait for the written confirmation. Got a call without the confirmation, couldn't take the call as I was told to reserve 1 hour for this stage. I work in a busy sales environment and can't just leave with no notice for a full hour. Recruiter (in the Egham office in the Sponsorship Sales team) eventually picked up my call after I called a few times, left a voicemail and chased up his colleagues and we rescheduled the call. Half an hour after the scheduled time I managed to get hold of him when he was supposed to be calling me and agains my better judgement gave him my time. Agreed to speak the following day and I am yet to hear back, it's been weeks now. I was left with an unprofessional and unreliable image of him which obviously reflects badly on the company as well. I am sure the company itself could be great and I was keen to go through to the next stage and actually speak to a hiring manager to learn more. These recruiters give the industry the bad name, having worked in recruitment myself it is a shame to still see people like this. I appreciate he probably thought I was not right for the role but then should have shared this with me rather than letting me expect the next stage.
