I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Garmin (Diamond Bar, CA) in Feb 2011
Interview
Two interviewer sat in front of you and asked questions. In the end they will ask you about the jar+ball game question, here is the answer:
1x2+2x2+3x2+4x2+5x2=30
30-(the weight reading)=the number label for the jar that you are looking for
I learned they have a 3 tier process: HR/Recruiter, Technical, On-Site. They also want a reference from your current manager if you do get an offer, which made me feel uncomfortable. I was asked directly about my current salary and it was not an overall good experience for the first round.
Phone call with recruiter. I was told the position I applied for was not the role I was being considered for. So, I requested a written job description of the role I was being considered for, and the response was there was no other job description, but they wanted to talk to me anyways. I found this extremely strange, and I could not get a clear answer on what role I was actually being considered for.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Garmin in Dec 2017
Interview
Phone interview with HR. It was difficult to explain previous experience to someone who was not an engineer. I felt as if the interviewer could not follow what I was saying no matter how I explained it. I was expecting to be interviewed by an actual engineer.
