I worked at Garmin full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    +Friendly
    +Lunchtime sports. Soccer, hockey, cycling.
+Opportunities for growth as a naive intern. Was trusted with interesting coding tasks and offered valuable reviews & guidance. (likely team/time specific)

    Cons

-Cochrane may be a negative for some. The commute is reasonably painless from NW Calgary.
-As an intern, you still have to grind out tasks occasionally.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Garmin (Cochrane, AB).

    Interview

I applied online on their website, after about 2-3 weeks they emailed me a coding question I needed to do (about data compression) before they can give me an interview. I was interviewed at my school. The interview took about two hours, and They first asked me about my Projects and followed with technical scenario questions.
