I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Gap (New York, NY) in May 2013
Interview
I first had a on the phone interview the interviewer was very nice she asked the basic questions, she gave me a second interview for a face to face where I would be talking to someone else I got there and it was kind of hard to find out where the person was the other sales associate there kept telling me to go to the next floor to ask or to ask someone else it was such a hassle and was making me kind of late. After I finally got to where I was suppose to be it was the break room I was told to sit there and wait for the Woman's department Manager. As I was sitting there, there was like 4 Sales Associate sitting there in the break room having conversation cursing alot, I didn't really like it so I fit uneasy about the interview thinking will these people be my potential coworkers? Finally I got called up after sitting there for awhile, it was awkward the other workers weren't friendly. The manager was very nice she asked me about my job history she described how the gap works. The interview didn't last that long. Then I received an Email.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Most difficult question was why I left my other job and what were a negative and a positive about my other job?
Group interview with other candidates with the store manager. Arrive at the store and wait for other candidates. Then interview happens in break room and it lasted roughly about 30-60minutes
It was a group interview of about 10-12 people. If I remember correctly they take you to the back, the stock room, and ask almost everyone the same question. The interview lasted about 30 minutes.
It was very easy, one in person interview with the general manager and then I was accepted! Mainly personality and behavioral questions were asked, and I think enthusiasm on my end helped the most.
