I have been working at Gap part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Good pay
    -Enjoyable coworkers
    -Simple work
-Options to avoid working indiliked areas (ie; cash, fits, kids, etc)
    -Good, regular hours
    -Nice discount
-Managers are nice and chill, trust us to move things around if we need to.

    Cons

-Inconstant days off, generally change week-to-week but that's normal for retail
-Sometimes Gap makes things difficult, like multiple incorrect pull-back lists or suddenly cancelled or additional shipments
-Not all stores are the same. Picked up a shift at other store in town and it seemed like few of them cared about the store.
-The much higher-ups want us to push e-mail capture at check out which sucks.

    Advice to Management

Stop making us push e-mail capture, no one like it and it ruins customer experience.

    Pros

Great people, very friendly and helpful. Good place for students.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Nothing specific. Most people here work part-time, so there is not much to advice

I have been working at Gap part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun environment to work, most of the managers are friendly and nice to work with. Very flexible with the work schedule.

    Cons

Sometimes managers don't back you up when customers complain about something, even though you are following all the company's standards.

I worked at Gap (Less than a year)

    Pros

pretty laid back, not on commission but selling is a team effort so less pressure. You get a 15 minute break if working less than 5 hours; 30 minute break if working 5+ hours.

    Cons

So much folding, you'll hate the hoodie table. Not much room for advancement

    Advice to Management

Hang all your clothes and stop moving stuff around so much the employees can't even find them.

    I worked at Gap part-time

    Pros

Some cool people to work with
    Employee discount
Stores usually busy and there's work to do

    Cons

Management usually out of touch, too demanding, overly pushy with customers
Not uncommon for part-time workers to get scarce hours because most stores over-hire
If you're not bubbly and energetic to the point of it being tacky and creepy, you won't fit in
