      Interview

Got headhunted by a recruiter from the US. Great empathetic 1st conversation. Followed by online assessment Followed by an (absurd) "yes/no" behavioral interview. Instead of using the answers from the online survey, the assessor (who sounded like and old recording device) repeated the same questions and then asked for a few examples. This being a "recruitment company", they should employ more modern, valid, and engaging ways of conducting these. Methods and style right out of the 1980's...

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Gallup (Singapore) in Feb 2026

      Interview

Immediately after applying, you’re sent 2 psychometric assessments with 100+ questions to complete before you can move to the next round. Both took 20-30 minutes but felt like forever. Second assessment had repeat questions from the first, probably to catch you out for consistency (for a company that does data research, I feel they were collecting data from this too). After passing them, was reached out by their TA specialist for an interview a week later. Although they stated it will be casual/informal, the entire interview felt formal. Didn’t like how the TA came across, seemed very disingenous and like she’s trying to tick off something from a checklist. Sometimes she talked too much that I had to stop her. I didn’t progress to the next round and frankly am glad since it seems like this company seems to have way too many hoops. Apparently you need to interview on-site then you’re sent a case to prepare at home before you return to their office to present to your future direct report and other big bosses and that’s followed by separate interviews with those big bosses too.
