I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at GE (Atlanta, GA) in Oct 2022

      Interview

Met them on-campus at a career showcase and was extended an interview later in the week. Scheduled remotely but may have been because of a hurricane that week. Had 1 remote interview then received my offer a week later.

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at GE

      Interview

I attend Purdue University. One day before the Krannert School of Management Spring Career Fair (late January), I attended the GE recruiting team's company presentation. Nearly all of the team were comprised of Purdue graduates from a variety of majors. Also, they were only recruiting students for the FMP internship program. During the presentation, they gave a brief introduction about the FMP internship program and some of the different divisions within GE as well as the type of projects that you could expect to work on within each division. They emphasized that they liked students who were active on campus and encouraged us to sell ourselves this way. They can only recruit students with 3.0 CGPA and higher as it was a human resource policy. They also said that we should apply online and that in two weeks, there would be a phone interview for those who are selected. They were not recruiting international students despite stating that they were in the career fair booklet. They said that they could help international students get in touch with offices outside of the US but I highly doubt their claim. During the career fair on the following day, I presented my resume and went over it with one of the recruiters. She was impressed by my co-curricular accomplishments and told me to submit my details online (GE website) as soon as possible and that there were a few interview slots available which surprised me as they made no mention of this during the company presentation. She also asked me about my interest in finance and some details about my co-curricular activities. She also wanted to know whether I required visa sponsorship. Basically, I think that they will not hire international students, so don't bother trying. I submitted my application online during the career fair, in class. Around 7pm, I was notified that I was given an interview slot on the next day and that I had to accept the interview by 9pm. I also had to bring a copy of my resume and transcript (unofficial was accepted). I attended the interview and one of the recruiters told me that they will be there for 3 hours. Based on this information, I believe they interviewed around 12-18 candidates but I could be wrong. It was a one on one interview. The interview wasn't too difficult. There were no technical questions or questions that required knowledge from any business courses. After the interview, which lasted for 30 minutes, I handed my transcripts and left. They told me that they would submit my information to the human resource department on the following Monday if I was selected and that I would get a phone call within two weeks from then on. On Monday, I was notified that my application would not be forwarded to the human resource department. Honestly, I believe that I was not selected to go further because I had bad grades in the past two semesters (below 2.0 semester GPA). My overall GPA was between 3.0 and 3.5, so I do not believe that they exclusively want people with super high GPAs. Overall, this was my first on campus interview and it was a great experience. The people were nice and had good intentions.
