I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Flexport in Jan 2017
Interview
Was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn to see if I was interested in hearing about this opportunity. I said yes and was soon contacted by a different recruiter by telephone at which point in time we spoke about my current situation, the role, and what they were looking for. Was invited for a Skype interview minutes later to be had in a few days with 3 individuals. The first individual, (lowest level) of the three, was extremely nice and personable. The second and third person who were Logistics Managers not only seemed dis interested, but they seemed as if they really did not want a new person to join their team and I felt as if they were trying to dissuade me from the job, very weird.
Advice to managers: try not to be so pompous when interviewing candidates, especially those with more experience than yourselves.
Additionally, they never really asked me about my background and I had to interject in order to tell them about my experiences and why I would be a good fit.
Case studies were extremely easy especially coming from consulting background. I felt the interviews went extremely well and we had good, interesting conversations only to find out they were going to move forward without me. Yes I was bummed, but in the end I don't want to be working with people that try to intimidate others from joining their team.
