I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Flatiron Software in Dec 2024
Interview
I applied to this company about four months ago. The interview process was quite standard, consisting of basic frontend and backend system design questions. After completing the interviews, I had a meeting with the CEO, during which I shared my salary expectations. Eventually, they informed me that they had decided to move forward with a different candidate.
Four months later, they unexpectedly sent me an offer letter. I reviewed the offer, which stated a gross salary of $2,881 USD, but it was presented in Turkish Lira. However, the offer did not mention any details regarding inflation adjustments, which most companies in Turkey typically include in their offers. When I inquired about this with HR, they simply stated that adjustments are made annually.
Additionally, the offer was contract-based with a gross salary. Since I had already communicated my salary expectation of $3,300 USD (in Turkish Lira) during my initial discussions, I reiterated this to them. Shortly after, I received another email stating:
"We regret to inform you that we are unable to proceed with your employment offer for the Full-Stack position at Flatiron."
This was, without a doubt, the most unprofessional job interview experience I’ve encountered. If they intended to rescind the offer, why send it in the first place?
