The interview process started with a 15-minute recruiter screen, followed by a 30-minute interview with a team member. I ultimately decided to withdraw my application after receiving the take-home test. The next step would have been a project demo based on the take-home.
During the team interview, the interviewer asked similar questions in various ways. While I wasn’t sure if this was intended to test my consistency, I ended up referring back to previous answers, which seemed acceptable since I progressed to the next round. The take-home assignment itself was straightforward—primarily focused on reading their API documentation to display mock data in a test environment.
At the end of the interview, as the team member was reviewing the take-home assignment, they asked if I was still open to completing it. I replied that I was, but their reaction—a laugh—caught me off guard, as I felt fully capable of handling the task. This interaction gave me some hesitation, particularly considering that the team is quite small, with only two members including this person.
