I applied through university. I interviewed at Estée Lauder Companies
Interview
I applied for this opportunity with great excitement as I knew EL was a very well-established company. Unfortunately, the recruitment process was extremely disappointing. I withdrew my application before I could get an interview request/rejection.
I attended their information sessions and also connected with the recruited through online events. They would only meet with a few applicants at a time and did not have enough people to meet the demand of their internship opportunities. While waiting for my turn to go to an individual breakout room with the leader of the internship program, we sat watching an EL rep work on her computer and tell people to wait their turns to see the leader. She wasn't interested in the event and only talked if questions were asked.
When I finally connected with the person that led the internship program I immediately realized how arrogant she was. She ranted about how they only hire interns if they are amazing and are willing to go a summer season without interns if the pool isn't impressive. She was pretty proud of having such demand for internship opportunities and never having to "settle" for talent. Totally gave me the sense that it was my honor to talk to her and apply for consideration of this program. I ended the conversation after about 10 minutes of her acting like this about talent and immediately withdrew my application. There's no way anyone should join this type of elitist culture.

Question 1
Why are you interested in Estee Lauder
Why are you interested in this opportunity
It was a group interview first round. There was a superday at first. I didn't love the group interview format because people kept taking over each other it was a little bit awkward. I only made it to the first round nothing else after.

Relatively straightforward interview as well as hiring process but job posting was posted relatively late so they were keen to hire ASAP. Overall was quite an ok experience that I had
