I applied online. I interviewed at Estée Lauder Companies in May 2019
Interview
I applied online for the Cosmetics Company Store and immediately got invited to complete a digital interview with Estee Lauder in the next 5 days. You sign into a site (HireVue) and record live video answers to pre-set questions. The whole thing was described as less stressful than an interview but honestly would have preferred a phone interview. You get about 30 seconds to prepare an answer after seeing the question, then three or so minutes to record. There's a big countdown clock and you're looking at yourself answering the question. I thought it was more unnerving than a phone call or interview where you're actually talking to a person that is responsive. I received a call the next day from a HR representative following up with more screening questions, which seemed unnecessary considering you've just completed 5 screening questions in the digital interview. Was told I would be contacted for the first of potentially 2 face-to-face interviews, that never eventuated. Didn't bother following up with the company as the hiring process seemed too drawn out and overly-long.

Question 1
Tell me about your skills and abilities that suit this role.
Begin with a face to face interview. After passing that you will need to complete a trades test (applying makeup on a model). Finally if you work within a store you will have an interview with the stores manager to get their approval.
No follow up even after I emailed multiple times after first interview, which i always find to be unprofessional and disrespectful. Interview process is 1 with HR and 2 with the team.
