I applied through university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Epic in Dec 2010
Interview
The hiring process was long. All correspondence (including the telephone interview) was conducted by people most likely younger than myself (only 23 yrs old). The process consisted of a personality test, phone interview, and skills test. .Two weeks later i was asked to come over to madison (this takes the entire )My interview started with a 1:1 interview which was a project presentation. After this was a programming test consisting of 3 questions. Next was a 2 min quicky comprising of 10 IQ questions followed by a skills test in which a booklet of a new language is given and you have to answer questions pertaining to that. This was a one hour test. After this was another programming test comprising of 2 questions.
That was all.The day started at 9 in the morning and ended at 4 in the evening.Interview lasted for 7 hours but was well paid
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Replace the occurences of 'a' in a string with THE provided the a should be preceded and proceeded by a space.
Medium level leetcode and then a very basic system design question as a final round interview. Overall, smooth and simple process. Only one technical and it was the first one.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you design a system to minimize wait time at a health care center?
[OA] OA was fair. Programming part are leetcode easy and easy-mediums, straightforward simulation, backtracking, dfs, strings, etc. No DP/graphs but ymmv.
[Final interview] (Case Study) I think the interviewer came up with their own prompt. It's mostly discussion-based, with a virtual white board. It's not too technical. I'm guessing its testing your communication/logical reasoning than system design skills. (Pair programming) 1 question, same format as the OA on the same platform, leetcode easy.
[Overall] Technical difficulty isn't bad. Interviewers who are current software devs seemed friendly. Had a good experience, yet got rejected.
First round is a thirty minute phone call with one of their developers. The other part of the first round is a three hour exam with IQ test style logic questions and coding questions.
