I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at EnergyCAP in Sep 2025
Interview
The interview process was great! From the beginning, they were transparent about each step. The process began with a quick call with the recruiter, followed by an introductory conversation with the Product Design Manager. After those initial chats, I went through two rounds of interviews that gave me the opportunity to share more about my professional experience and design approach, while also learning about the work culture, responsibilities, and expectations for the role.
Their transparent process and communication truly felt like a breath of fresh air. It was clear that the hiring folks at EnergyCAP genuinely care about their team.

Interview
The interview process with EnergyCap was straight forward. Recruiter and then the team. John (my recruiter) was absolutely great to work with and was everything you would expect from a great Recruiter. There were a total of 5 interactions/interviews with the team. All, to me, were necessary to get a full picture of the role. After each interview, I received feedback and next steps. The whole process was easy, straight forward and an enjoyable process.

Question 1
They really wanted to understand my experience & philosophy on coaching reps. Know what you do, what you do well and you can give examples/data/stats on your experience.

Interview
The compant initiated the outreach (I did not proactively apply). The interview process was extremely unprofessional and lacked transparency. Communication was poor, with no follow-up or accountability.
It was explicitly stated that I would be advancing to the next stage of the interview process. However, I never heard from the company again and never received a formal rejection or closure. This lack of professionalism left a negative impression.
Additionally, the leadership style came across as rigid and authoritarian, which gave me serious concerns about what working in that environment would be like (saying we're like a family was a major red flag).
Overall, the process was disorganized, misleading, and not reflective of a company that values candidates’ time or experience.
