      Paid Social Manager Interview

      Apr 16, 2026

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at EF Education First (Boston, MA) in Mar 2026

      Interview

Interview started with the director first because the hiring manager was out the first week they began their search which was a bit odd. But made a great connection with both - my 8 years matched exactly the marketing experience they wanted. Then waited almost a full week to receive a rejection, stating feedback related to not being a good "team fit". This feedback immediately struck me as odd, so I pressed HR for clarification, which was then communicated back that I was "too detailed" in my responses. Wasn't aware this company didn't like detail-oriented candidates. Also felt like gender played a part in their decision as the entire department I applied for was female. Felt like their "team fit" comments were about more than just detail oriented communication. Avoid.
