Unfortunately, the process was pretty unprofessional from top to bottom, despite my significant interest in working there. The first step was a HackerRank coding exercise, which is an hour in length. I completed it and heard from their tech recruiter within the hour, wanting to set up an initial phone screen. We talked for a half hour about my knowledge of DraftKings and other basic preliminary interview questions. She ended the call by saying she would schedule a technical phone screen. I didn't hear back from her until the next week, when I followed up and she finally put it on the schedule. The tech phone screen was largely the same, with few technical questions. It again went well, and he assured me I'd be hearing from the original recruiter to discuss an onsite interview. Another week passed, and I had to ping the recruiter again to get the response that my tech screen had received "excellent feedback" and they wanted to fly me out to Boston. We worked together to arrange travel dates, and they booked flights and hotel reservations. The next morning I woke up with an email saying my interview had been canceled, as the position had been filled. That was the end of my contact with DraftKings. I told them I was disappointed but understood, but in reality, the interview process was extremely poorly managed for a company of this size. Future applicants beware; you might get hung out to dry by a recruiting department that has almost no professionalism. Would not recommend.
