I received an interview request via email, choose a time, and then had my initial video interview with a member of the Operations team the following week. I received a declination email about 24 hours following the interview.
I have mixed feelings about not being interviewed by a Human Resources employee (they mentioned this was SOP for the company), sometimes that can mean a company is chronically understaffed.
I did however appreciate that the full interview process was shared with me, it seemed reasonable and not overly drawn out, however they mentioned a take home scenario, which can raise a red flag if it ends up seeming like free labor. Typically one can learn what they need to in the interview process, between behavioral and critical incident-style questions, instead of giving candidates assignments.
