I never normally write company reviews on Glassdoor, however, the recruitment process for Danone was so appalling that I was drawn to share my experiences. I attended a campus event, was initially impressed by their presentation and subsequently applied to the Marketing & Sales Graduate Programme in September. I completed the online tests and waited to hear back. When I didn't hear anything for a couple of weeks, I phoned them to ask for an update. However, I was told that there had been an error on their part and that I should have been invited to a video interview. They then followed on saying that all the other applicants had completed their video interview and that they had already selected those to go through to the assessment day and there was an extensive waiting list. I completed the video interview and passed but was added onto the end of the waiting list. At this stage, I felt at a severe disadvantage from their own mistake. Over the next few weeks, I phoned a couple of times to ask for any updates. Every time, they were very unsure and failed to give me any exact answers as to whether they were to have any more assessment days. In February, I then phoned and they said that they were changing the recruitment process for next year and so all applications would be abandoned. To not continue with the shortlist of current applicants who have already passed multiple stages, to me, does not make HR sense. I since found a graduate job elsewhere, but last week, in May, I was appalled to receive an email saying:
"Thank you for your application for the position Marketing & Sales Graduate Programme 2017 at DANONE.
We appreciate the interest you've shown for Danone, and the time you've taken to share with us information about yourself.
After careful consideration, we consider that your application does not match our needs for this particular position.
We will keep your resume on file for future reference, and we encourage you to follow the latest updates and job openings on http://jobs.danone.com/."
Not only is this company incompetent at keeping candidates in the loop, they fail to be honest in their emails as to the full situation. I have been completely dissuaded from working for Danone at any point in the future.
