I applied online. I interviewed at Chicago Police Department (Chicago, IL)
Interview
Applied: 10-12-2017
Written Exam: 12-16-2017 (at the McCormick Center, multiple choice, using a scantron)
Power Test (physical test): 6-9-2018 (sit-ups, push-ups, bench press, sit and reach and 1.5 mile run, all based on age and gender) and drug test (hair and urine sample)
Polygraph: September, 2018 (with one administrator)
My negative experience rating is strictly due to never hearing from them after my polygraph. I emailed and called and was never given a straight answer. I went through the process with several departments and I have never otherwise not gotten closure. With a process that requires so much preparation and commitment, I find it very disrespectful for the department to not follow through and at least properly inform recruits know they were not selected.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
A polygraph consists of several questions in the same format of 'have you ever...' and the administrator will ask you to lie to some obvious questions, for example, "is your name..." and "are you sitting down." I never had a panel interview.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Chicago Police Department (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2013
Interview
Background and health screening, drug test and polygraph. Do not lie on any portion of the interview process at it may disqualify you. There is also a power test that consists of a 1 and 1/2 mile run, being able to press about 90% of your weight, sit and reach and sit up.

Question 1
Have you ever committed a crime for which you did not get caught?
