I want to preface this by stating I worked at Centene from 2017 - 2021, so I'm a former employee who applied. I applied for a BA III position and had a Centene talent recruiter set up a request for a phone screen. The recruiter told me on the phone screen that she believed the position I applied for was already being filled internally, but she still wanted to chat with me about another open BA III position she thought would be a good fit for me. It wasn't really an interview. She just asked about my experience, when I could start, and my salary expectations. She then said I would need to apply to this new BA III position officially, and she would email me the link to apply. She said once she received my application, she would move me on to the hiring manager who would then decide if they wanted to do a video interview. I applied for the position once she sent the link, and I received a video interview request 2 days later. I had a video interview scheduled with a Senior Manager and a Director. I ended up only interviewing with the Senior Manager as the Director ended up being unavailable. The interview was of average difficulty. I was asked questions about my previous Centene experience, what kind of environment I work best in, how I deal with ambiguity, etc. It was a 30-minute interview, and the conversation flowed smoothly. I asked next steps, and he stated the next step would be to have a video interview with the hiring manager. A few days later I received a request for a video interview with the hiring manager and another Senior Director. My video interview with them was scheduled for 30 minutes. This interview was relatively easy. I mainly was asked questions about my previous experience at Centene and very specific questions related to what I did in my role. I was not asked STAR-based questions. They told me the next steps would be that I would hear from a recruiter pretty quickly with an offer if I was selected. The next day I received a call from the recruiter with an offer for the job. Once I accepted the offer and filled out the background check information, the background check took 4 business days. I then received confirmation from the recruiter and asked about an available start date. I'm including my timeline below, so you can get a feel for the process: - February 22, 2023 - 15 minute phone screen with HR Recruiter. Told the original position was filled that I applied for and recommended to apply to another BA III role. Applied to the role once she emailed it over. - February 24, 2023 - Received video interview request and scheduled. - March 6, 2023 - Completed video interview with Senior Manager. - March 10, 2023 - Received 2nd video interview request and scheduled. - March 16, 2023 - Completed video interview with the hiring manager and Senior Director. - March 17, 2023 - Received offer letter. Accepted, and filled out background check information. - March 23, 2023 - Background check cleared and start date determined.
