1. I submitted resume via internet
2. Got HR email 3 days later
3. HR scheduled interview, and I talked to HR for 45 minutes on the phone.
4. HR scheduled hiring manager interview (phone)
5. Took a skills test, got very positive feedback, HR promised to schedule on site
6. HR forgot to schedule on site until I reminded her
7. Finally brought in for on site interview
6. Spent full day, including lunch talking to everyone on team
7. Had to schedule another interview over the phone a week later.
8. HR followed up with positive feedback, sent me summary of benefits, asked about payscale, also got positive feedback from the hiring manager
9. Never heard back from them again
10. I emailed the hiring manager to inquire AND HR with no response
11. Finally wrote a stern email to HR demanding a response and expressed concern that I'd never had an interview go this far with no human contact after the fact.
12. Finally got official rejection.
Notes: Interviewers hadn't read my resume too closely, didn't know my background. Interviews are more conversational. They are all very concerned about a good "fit", so to that end, best if you are under 30, hip, and a little bit of a geek, because all the writers are very young. Pay scale is lower than average pay around here.
Everything was fine about the interview, but the handling of personnel issues from HR to management, was, in my opinion, highly unprofessional.
