Was genuinely excited about the role I applied for - I had matching qualifications on paper and thought Canon was doing exciting things. However.....
Red flag #1: the initial phone screen was with someone in that department, but was overseas (outsourced).
Red flag #2: the phone screen lasted 10 minutes and was confirming everything that was already in the posting. I didn't have the opportunity to learn about the company, ask questions, etc. There was also a language barrier present.
Red flag #3: Was ghosted after this initial phone screening. If you take the time to speak with candidates, you owe it to them to provide them an update after you consume their time.
Overall a very poor experience, especially for a role within HR function. I was very surprised for a company as big and notable as Canon.
