I applied through university. I interviewed at BlueCat (Toronto, ON)
Interview
First, I had to go through a phone screen. Next, there were three 1 on 1 30-minute interviews one after the other in a 1.5 hour time slot. First interview consisted of network and programming based questions. Second interview consisted of soft-skills and scenario-based questions. Third interview consisted of programming and data structure questions.
Thank you for taking the time to compete for a co-op opportunity on our team, we greatly appreciate the time and effort spent.
Application
I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at BlueCat
Interview
I had one in-person interview that was broken up into 2 sections. The first dealt with my experiences, extra-curriculars, and interests, while the second asked me questions regarding object-oriented concepts, programming fundamentals, and some computer networks questions (since I was familiar with the topic).
After this I was called for a very brief phone interview, where we discussed my expectations with the company and what I hoped to learn from them. Additionally, I explained past projects I had worked on and their significance.
Soon after I was approached with an offer. Everything was conducted very smoothly and quickly, and I thought the interview questions were fair, considering the position I was applying for.

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at BlueCat (Toronto, ON) in Sep 2016
Interview
At every stage of the interview process, it was easy to see the incredible level of professionalism, courtesy and hospitality demonstrated by everyone involved. Conversations were very fluid and the interviewers were very polite and seemingly happy to be there! The recruiters and interviewers constantly kept in touch and updated me in-between interviews.
Having interviewed with almost 2 dozen companies in my career, I can honestly say BlueCat's is one of the most organized processes I've seen to date.
