I had two rounds of interviews with Bitrise. Having seen all the negative reviews of management and lay offs, it was interesting to see how it reflects to the role. The interviewers weren’t super candid about the mistakes and just referred to hyper growth.
The initial interview was to see if I’m generally a good fit, and then a cultural interview. The role wasn’t explained during these two phases, which is an interesting approach as the cultural interview asked very specific questions on the impact and and approach to revops, making it hard to cover the answers to their questions. The role was a senior role, so I imagine all the interviewed candidates have multiple examples under their belts which creates the impression the team doesn’t really know what they’re hiring for either. Overall, the two rounds of interviews expanded to a time span over a month, and two weeks after the last interview I still haven’t heard back. If the approach the company is taking is to ghost their candidates who took 4hr just to go through all the resources they shared in the interview package, one could think they dodged a bullet…. :)
