The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Best Buy (Lynnwood, WA) in Oct 2010
Interview
I applied online on a Sunday, had the phone interview Monday evening at which point they informed me that they were not hiring for geek squad, as they had listed online so I accepted to interview for a seasonal sales position. She set me up with an interview with the sales manager, and he asked me quite a few questions from the standard line-by-line interview questionnaire they do with all their employees, and I had read most of them on here so I had answers to almost all of them right away. After completing this interview he asked me to come back in 2 hours for an interview with the general manager. that interview consisted of mostly the same types of questions, and again most of which I already had good answers for, and these dealt with the importance of good customer service, teamwork, and the no stealing policy. He then offered me the job and I accepted after an attempt to bump up the payrate, then sent me off to go take a drug test. so the actual time for in-person interviewing only took 1 day which was nice. I am supposed to start orientation the following Thursday.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
When have you had to deal with a difficult person/group/customer... be specific...?
Tell me about yourself... what is the one thing you are most proud of...?
If you saw an employee stealing something what would you do/what do you think should happen to them?
If I were to call your previous supervisor, what would be the one thing they would say you needed to change in order to be the most outstanding employee at the store?
How do you anticipate customer's needs?
what in school/work are you most proud of? (be specific)
The interview process was straightforward and easy. Was told I got the job during the interview, and that they would reach out. They told me a start date and said they would get back with an exact time. Didn't reach out until two weeks after the start date they set and asked if I still wanted the job.
