Went through full interview process, received verbal offer. While waiting for "final signature" the role was upleveled with additional requirements. I was invited to continue additional (now required) interviews only to be told after two more interviews I didn't meet the requirements despite the hiring team knowing my qualifications the entire time. Position I was verbally offered a role for was dissolved and did not offer me "new" position.
Whiplash and a waste of time at its finest. This was to no fault of the recruiter herself who did a great job with the hand she was dealt.
My question is this: if you know you're moving the target on a role and you know from the get-go I don't fit the requirements for the new role, why would you 1. give a verbal offer if things are up in the air, 2. continue to interview me at all.
Advice: proceed with caution. Also, push for a base salary you're worth.
