      Senior Web Developer Interview

      May 10, 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Raleigh, NC
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Bandwidth (Raleigh, NC) in Apr 2018

      Interview

The recruiter/person I spoke with wanted me to set up an in-person interview within less than a week of my phone interview. This practice alone of short-notice in-person interviews is very inconsiderate to people who are employed full-time. I ended up taking off half a day at my current job because I didn't want to use a full day of PTO and there were no morning slots available. As a result, I was a minute or two late to the interview because I was not going to risk neglecting my current job responsibilities for this possible job. The process of getting to the interview was also a hassle because they want you to print out a parking pass for yourself before going to the interview and you'll have to arrive quite early to guarantee that you get a spot because there's no reserved parking spaces. Once I arrived, I was led into in a conference room where several employees met with me one-by-one. The interview conversations were fine but there were no skills tests which was surprising for a technical job. Overall, they need to be more considerate and respectful of applicants since applicants are usually very respectful and considerate of their time. I was asked to provide my current salary on the application which was required and is ridiculous. I was also asked to provide five references up front, all of whom were contacted which is unbelievably inconsiderate both to the applicant and the references if they haven't prepared to extend an offer yet.
