The interview process started with a screening call with the recruiter. After a few days I was asked to do an interview with the hiring manager and the person I would be working closely with in the office. That interview went very well and they kept nudging that I would be a great fit and that they were excited to work with me. I was then told I would be followed up with in the coming days. I didn’t hear anything back for over a week and reached out to them. I was then asked to do an interview person interview. That interview also went really well and at the end I was asked about my availability and if I had any planned vacations and that their HR team will be in touch. Then I was ghosted again for two weeks. I reached out again and was told they were still conducting interviews. After 4 weeks they finally came back to me and said I didn’t get the position. So much time goes into these interviews and to pull someone out of their day on numerous occasions only to treat them this way I found hurtful. Note to the interviewers, you should remain neutral when conducting the interviews and not get everyone’s hopes up. We’re in a very difficult market right now and giving people false hope isn’t the way to go about things.
