I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at BDO (Birmingham, England) in Aug 2019
Interview
The application process included online tests, which were numerical, critical and SJT, video interview and Assessment centre.
The video interview was strength based. It’s strange to say but you need to research yourself to be comfortable and confident during the interview.
The assessment centre included a group discussion, an individual presentation of what had been discussed wishing the group, written exercise (email response) and an interview with a Partner. I got a call two days after the assessment centre for feedback.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Do you see yourself more as an individual or team player?
Online interview, then assessment centre and final round with a director within your division. Lasts up to 1 hour. Questions are based around cultural fit rather than technical competence. You get questions regarding scenarios and how you would respond in that situation.
I applied online. I interviewed at BDO (Bristol, England) in Jan 2024
Interview
After the initial online assessments, video interviews and assessment centre stage (which comprises of a case study and group exercise), the final interview is in-person and with partners on the team you applied for. The partners were very very nice and it was more conversation-like. Do your research on the department you apply for and keep up to date with trends, that'll give you the edge for sure. They don't grill you too much on it.
First stage application, then Video Interview then the final stage which is the assessment centre and interview. The interview questions are more competency based, giving you scenarios and how to react not as skilled based.
