      Customer Service Representative Interview

      Sep 17, 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Asurion in Dec 2013

      Interview

The interview process was fairly easy, submit an application/resume online; receive an email to complete the evaluation, then have a brief verbal interview and chose the time slot you wish to work, from the allotted available times. It's what happens next that makes this company difficult.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

As I was emailing back and forth, the week of Christmas I only had to complete my drug screen. However, I never received the email. I just assumed it was because of being on Dec 23, and only being given a 48 window I would get after the holidays. When I emailed asking about it on Dec 30, I was told I no longer had a job because I didn't do the drug screen. They even went to the effort of forwarding me an email they claim to have sent. Funny that I received all other emails, I had went through purchasing all items needed, including a computer, had been going through every step, but they claim I intentionally didn't take a drug screen. Keep in mind, I am also 74 yrs old...why would I not take a drug screen?! Be very diligent with this company, and if you know it is time for a drug screen, or an evaluation, or to complete the background check, etc. don't wait even one day...inquire about it!

      Application

I interviewed at Asurion (Phoenix, AZ)

      Interview

The interview process for the customer service position started with a phone screening where they asked about my availability, background, and basic customer service experience. After that, I was invited for an in-person (or virtual) interview with the hiring manager. During the interview, they asked behavioral questions like how I handle difficult customers, how I stay calm under pressure, and how I work as part of a team. They also gave a few scenarios and asked how I would respond. The whole process was straightforward and focused on communication skills, patience, and problem-solving. I heard back shortly after with next steps.
