      Web Developer Interview

      Mar 9, 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Asana (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2018

      Interview

There was a coding assignment, which took roughly two hours, followed by a phone screen with the recruiter, and a phone screen with the manager. Make sure to you can support the decisions behind why you write every piece of css/js the way you wrote it. Lastly, the onsite. Each part was a little bit too long; many easy HTML/CSS/JS questions, and a one-hour coding challenge. Recruiters and everyone at Asana were nice and helpful.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Asana (San Francisco, CA) in Jun 2019

      Interview

First step was a 30-minute recruiter call to discuss my background and interests. The next step was a take-home exercise. I was given 7 days to complete it (could be longer if requested) and spent around 8 hours on it. The next step was a call with the hiring manager to review the code submission. On the first attempt the interviewer never called and I eventually got an email from a recruiter saying something urgent had come up. On the second attempt, the interviewer was 10-minutes late, seemed unprepared, didn't acknowledge the previous mishap and seemed generally uninterested in my candidacy. I never heard anything back and it was a huge waste of time from my side.
