I contacted Articulate via careers.stackoverflow.com, and got a fast response to set up phone interviews with the director of engineering and a team lead, both one on one. We talked about my experience in the domain I was interviewing for (desktop) and ran through a few of the standard tech interview "demonstrate knowledge" style questions. I don't recall any brain teasers, but they did expect me to be in the know on performance, as they take it very seriously. Afterwards, I was given a "take home" programming challenge to complete, to demonstrate my coding chops and ability to tackle a performant windows desktop application. Following turning in my application, which I spent several hours on across a few evenings, I talked to the CTO and discussed benefits and my salary history. After that, I got the offer.

Interview was a Zoom audio only call with one of the worst recruiters I've ever spoken with. I received no intro to the company or the position as is the usual. Instead she dived right into what my salary expectations were, if I have any other opportunities and what stage was I in, and then a bunch of questions that made it clear she had not looked at my resume at all. She told me that she'd pass on her notes to the hiring manager and then let me know if they would proceed or not. What notes? She barely gleaned anything that wasn't already on my resume. For example, how many years of experience do I have. I felt like she was bored and wasn't actually listening to any of my responses. Then, next day I receive a thanks but no thanks email. I am assuming that this interview was just a formality and that there was just a quota needing to be filled. Waste of my time.
