      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at American Income Life (Eatontown, NJ) in Dec 2015

      Interview

I was called from having my resume posted on CareerBuilder. The lady in HR told me this was for 1 of 3 positions being "Customer Service Manager, Sales Manager or Account Manager". Now a title is simply a title so after asking 2-3 times about what the position would involve I still wasn't given an answer. I decided to take the interview. Upon my arrival I noticed I was 1 of about 20-25 people being interviewed. I was brought into a room for a prescreen (I suppose) for about 5-10min tops. After that I was told I was moving onto the "next round" where i was sat in a large conference room with everyone else. They showed us a PP presentation on the history of the company, the comp package and how it all works. I had mentioned I didn't want anything to do with D2D sales. Now this may not be the typical D2D but as a whole you are driving to people houses (with your own car, and they didn't mention any expense for gas, miles or tolls) and selling them the product in their homes. If I was told on the front end about this being a 100% commission based role with D2D sales I would of declined the interview. On top of all that you are expected to pay $150 for a call to get a license in the state of NJ. The entire process was completely misleading. I didn't realize all of this till there was about 30min left in the presentation. ' I was called in the afternoon to be brought in for a final round. As you may have guessed... I Had declined the next interview.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at American Income Life (Atlanta, GA) in Nov 2014

      Interview

I was cold called by the secretary of AIL and was asked if I was interested in a full time job. Being out of work for a full 2 months I said yes and was invited to the interview. The interview was a couple days later and lasted about 2 hours in a conference room along with 20 other candidates. We listened to the recruiter tell her life story, watched a few videos, and watched a presentation of the company. Recruiter stressed how much money we would make and insisted we make about as much as doctors do. Another thing they stressed was that we don't handle cold calling, another department does. We were told the process goes as follows: another department makes the cold calls to customers. Once a customer says he/she is interested, we are to meet with the customer and sign them up. With that being said, we were told that our sales were practically guaranteed. I met with the regional manager because she was at the office as well. She insisted we DO NOT sell to friends and families. She never explained why, but she said to never do it. I was invited to a second interview in which I was interviewed by the regional manager herself. After a brief discussion and a few questions, she stated she didn't really want to offer me the position because I'm a bit too young to understand how important life insurance is. I was 20 at the time, by the way. In the end however, she offered me the position. I was also told the hours are from 9-7pm. I came to find out you need to be at the office by 9am but you are on the field from 12pm until whenever. Samantha told me I won't be home for dinner with the family. The job wasn't right for me because I'm family oriented and this position promises you'll have little to no family time or outside life.
