Question 1
Describe a time you dealt with a difficult customer and how you handled the situation?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Allstate (Houston, TX) in Mar 2011
Interview
Glassdoor has provided me with a tremendous amount of useful information that really helped me through my job-hunting. In return, I wrote this review hoping that it might help someone on his/her job search.
I applied for this position through Allstate's company website and got a call back from one of the hiring representative a few minutes later. We went over my background and he asked me some general behavioral questions. This phone interview lasted roughly 10 minutes and he later told me that I have met all the requirements and I should receive an email that would guide me through the next step of the process.
I got the email later that day, and basically it's a short test involving some situational questions and basic math problems. I got an email notification immediately after the test telling me that I passed the test and would have to schedule a time for the in-person interview. I responded to the email but my first interview date got push back a week because the hiring manager was not available at the time. Anyhow, I rescheduled another time for the interview the following week.
I was greeted warmly by the receptionist, and she was very pleasant to talk to and offered me a lot of information. We engaged in a small talk until I was introduced to my interviewers. I was interviewed by two interviewers, and they were nice and pleasant to talk to. The interview consists of some behavioral questions and situational questions just like the phone interview only that this was longer. It lasted about an hour, and I answered about 15 questions total. The interview went extremely well since I did spend some time researching Allstate beforehand.
I was told by the interviewers that I should receive a call soon since my qualifications and skills closely match the requirements for this job. Overall, my experience with Allstate is pleasant and all the staffs are extremely generous. Hope this helps, and best of luck ^ ^.
