I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Airbnb (San Francisco, CA) in Sep 2015
Interview
I did a phone screen with some live coding, followed by a full-day onsite interview.
The phone screen wasn't extremely difficult, it seems to me that they were looking more for how you solve problems, rather than looking at the actual solutions.
The onsite interview was a mix of cultural and technical interviews. I really enjoyed all of the employees that I met with, and had a fun time talking with them. The cultural interviews felt more like natural conversations than the traditional question/answer structure. The technical interviews were mostly just coding challenges, but they focused more on practical problem solving. Interviewing really solidified my appreciation of the company and my desire to work there.

Other Software Engineer interview reviews for Airbnb
Pretty standard engineering interview. Recruiter call, technical interview, system design. They also had a code review interview that I had never seen before. I thought it was a little trickier than average, but not horrible. Sucks that if you don't move to the next round you can't reapply for a year.
