      Flight Attendant Interview

      Dec 7, 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Air Canada (Toronto, ON) in Nov 2023

      Interview

from the onset there were red flags and it just got worse from there - meeting times were not met, several calls to continuously reschedule, disorganization and disrespect of people’s time and schedules. Interview is basic behavioral questions that are dated - ones you would hear 20 years ago. Interviewer was not personable and simply robotic, was not able to provide any in depth information on the role - did not ask if I had any questions, when I asked questions she was not able to provide any answers, simply provided very high level basic pay figures and advised remaining questions to be answered during the training session - was told to research the role myself on YouTube. I got the impression that the expectation here is for someone to simply leave their current role blindly without any information at all to make a sound decision. That is extremely bizarre - have never had such an interview process before. I agree with the previous reviews that the pay is very low however still considered it as a fun, new career change - sadly this initial process has tainted that and only shows a first glance of what struggles likely to face. It is evident there is an extreme lack of training and people management w the onboarding team that would ultimately deter people from considering. Kudos to my bilingual interviewer though who was the opposite of any of this.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Random behavioural questions ie how you handled a difficult scenario, what did you manage to excel at, what you like, dislike about your current role. Dated questions

      Interview

The interview process comprises an initial group meeting with all applicants, followed by a concise overview of Air Canada. Subsequently, the larger group will be segmented into two or three smaller units for individual interviews. These interviews are designed to assess your interpersonal skills, cognitive processes, and professional bearing. You will be presented with a scenario for discussion, followed by a video analysis focusing on a flight attendant's actions, requiring you to evaluate their appropriateness.
