      Great company gutted by COVID19

      Pros

Air Canada is a highly professional organization who over the years has demonstrated that it cares for its employees in a variety of ways. Its human touch is something that was very strong prior to the onset of COVID 19 before more than 20,000 people were let go.

      Cons

Its the airline industry which is subject to a wide range of factors beyond its control. This uncertainty is something one must be comfortable living with

      Great job for flexible people.

      Pros

Safety focussed operation with hardworking colleagues most of whom have two decades or more experience. Teamwork attitude. Variable work hours based on seniority. Commitment to global champion culture of inclusiveness. Space available travel priveledges.

      Cons

Large corporation with mostly unionized workforce. Too many layers of management, not enough front line workers. Junior employees can expect to work reserve (on call shifts) including nights, weekends and holidays without pay premium (vacation days in lieu of stat holidays). Can be away from home for several days at a time. Shifts may require waking at very odd hours on many time zones, chronic jet lag.

      Pros

Awesome team , great managers, lots of flexibility to create your own schedule. If you love to travel for work, this is a great role.

      Cons

The salaries are a little lower considering the perks you get with the company. Some work days can be quite long especially if you are travelling to a different location for interviews for the day.

Better with time ... great opportunity for those that can accomodate the lifestyle

      Pros

Never the same day twice, excellent coworkers / company pride, good group benefits, employee share matching (currently suspended during COVID downturn), bonus of flight passes and options to travel. Instead of just seeing the country and the world, you'll feel intimately connected to some of your favourite cities, with a much more cohesive world view. As a flight attendant, you'll feel fairly well looked after by the company , but your duty is to look after the safety, security, and service experience of each customer... so you'll kind of get back what you put in if you're

      Cons

There are still plenty of people who want to put those bare feet up, yell at you for something you didn't do and can't change. Learning to bite your tongue can be extremely painful at times. The beginning year(s) can be really demanding and challenging. The entirety of the job becomes better with seniority. You'll have to be fully dedicated and give an uncompromised effort to successfully complete a gruelling few weeks of intense initial training with practical and written exams. As a new recruit, your base is assigned... you are not guaranteed to receive your choice when presented options. None of these are really cons if you understand that your fresh wings have to put in.a lot of practice, and take it as the trial by fire of aviation.. the good news is that your coworkers have been through it and understand.

      Cons

Crew schedules can be challenging sometime which means your away from home alot. First 4 years of probation pay is worse....
