      Retail Sales Consultant Interview

      Jan 10, 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Springfield, MO
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at AT&T (Springfield, MO) in Nov 2013

      Interview

The Process began with an online application on which i responded to several questions regarding my present work experience and education. Then i had to be subject to a personality evaluation where you have to select word that best describe yourself from group of words. Then there was a job skills evaluation where i had to answer situation based questions. Most questions asked what you would do if you had a customer that had a particular issue and needed you to be their fist point of cal to relieving this stress. So far so Good. Once you make it through the battery of tests which should take about 1.5 hour to complete you will receive an email from a Human resource manger scheduling you first interview with a company recruiter. I have to admit the interview was very non intimidating, standard get to know you type questions. In my opinion, I was not accepted because the recruiter was afraid of my many years of self employment, because i didn't flutter at any of his questions, or maybe i came off as arrogant because i showed absolutely no signs of nervousness. Either the recruiter was inexperienced in understanding the challenges of self employment or i was terrible in my interview. I noticed that the job was filled shortly after my interview and i was never called in for a second interview with the store manager. Subsequently, I noticed the same position re-opened less that 3 weeks following the close, so maybe they hired the wrong guy after all an he thought the job wasn't a good match.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

There were no particularly difficult questions. What was a bad experience i had with a technology? What was one instance when a member of my team cut corners to make a sale? Describe a situation where i had a bad experience with a client? Why did i leave my last job?
