I applied online. I interviewed at 8am (Austin, TX)
Interview
First, I would like to note that the interview was intended to be for a Rails position. I met onsite with 4 people. The first drilled me with network operations concepts that were outside the scope of the job position. The second interviewer drilled me with rough Java questions which were again outside the scope of the position. The third interviewer finally asked me questions regarding Rails, all of which I felt very comfortable with and aced, even to the point where I had to correct him in a couple of his questions. The fourth interviewer asked me a complex algorithmic question in Java that I could not solve in the time frame allotted.
I was dismayed that the hiring manager I was in contact throughout the entire process seemed very enthusiastic about the possibility of working together and when the interview panel decided to not go ahead with me, he delegated the rejection call to the secretary even though he said I would hear from him which I found very unprofessional.
