I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at 3M in Dec 2009
Interview
I had been working for the company for almost 3 years and recently graduated college. One of the cluster managers where I work had a position open for a contract lab technician position and asked me if I would be interested in interviewing for the position. I told him that I would like to hear more about the position and future opportunities resulting from a position like this one. Though the position was a lower grade position than I was qualified for, I took the interview mostly for information gathering, and hearing about a possible option for me.

Question 1
Have you ever had to deal with a disagreement within a cross functional team, and how did you deal with it?
Precise and concise, ask more about work attitude and past work experiences. Interviewers were generally kind and did mention what will be the work involved and responsibkities on the job.
Two rounds, wasn't too bad. First was with one person and the second was a group interview. Asked general interview questions such as how I functioned in a teamwork and individual environment and was virtual via Microsoft Teams.
I was interviewed only by one HR personnel. Interview went for about an hour and the questions asked were quite standard. A lot of the conversation was focused on the technical skills and not personality traits.
